Weekend in Seattle

Last weekend was our 6 month wedding anniversary, as well as the start of Spring Break. So we decided it was a good weekend to get away. And where better to go than where we first went on a trip together, and where we got engaged - Seattle.

Alright, the above reasons sound good and all, but we had other reasons for going to the States. With the the US dollar dropping, and us having a few left-over and quickly-depreciating bills, we decided to go shopping. This is one trip, Cathy was really looking forward to. And it's been quite a while since I've seen the same glint in my favourite blonde's eyes, as when we took Exit 200 to the Tulalip Outlet Mall. Let's just say we crossed the border early afternoon and we didn't get to Seattle until 10pm. I'll let you fill in the details yourself...

Cathy booked us a nice room at the Marriott Spring Hills. The hotel room was new, and very clean, came with quality furnishings as well as a microwave and fridge. Since we got to the hotel late, we just picked ourselves up a cheap bottle of wine and watched the news and a couple of episodes of Law and Order. This might not sound too exciting, but we enjoyed it. What can we say, maybe we're getting old. And after hearing of all the violent crimes in the Seattle news, from high school beatings, homocides, bullet ridden homes, and lone women getting assaulted in the streets, we did not feel like going out.

The next day, we had a good breakfast of waffles, and egg 'n'sausage muffins buffet-style (included with hotel room!) Afterwards we took a long stroll around Pike Place Market before heading home. Good ol', safe Canada.

Thank you to Don, Sue and Chrissy for taking care of our Li'l Pudge-Pudge while we were gone!
